Alaa Awad, M.D., is a University of Florida professor of medicine and a board-certified nephrologist at UF Health Jacksonville. He also serves as medical director of the Dialysis Unit. Dr. Awad received his medical degree from Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as well as a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
