Rosette M Charles, M.D.

Rosette Charles, MD, is a University of Florida assistant professor and an internist at UF Health Jacksonville. Dr. Charles practices primary care with a focus on women’s health, chronic disease management, underserved populations, health disparities and health equity. She is drawn to primary care for its emphasis on continuity, relationship-centered care, and the opportunity to understand patients within the broader context of their lives. She is a lifetime member of the Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society for her exemplary demonstration of humanism in medicine.

Dr. Charles received her medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine. During residency, she served as the primary care track co-chief resident and served as chair of the residency program’s first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Gator Council. She is board-certified in internal medicine.

As an educator, Dr. Charles enjoys teaching medical students and residents how to approach diagnostic challenges efficiently, practice value-based care, and develop sustainable approaches to medicine that support both high-quality patient care and physician well-being. She is committed to mentorship and is interested in developing innovative approaches to peer mentorship within academic medicine.

Her scholarly interests include quality improvement, medical education, community health, health equity, and how the social determinants of health affect delivery of care and health outcomes. Through her clinical, educational and scholarly work, Dr. Charles is dedicated to advancing equitable, patient-centered care while supporting the development of future physicians.
