About Michele Golino

Michele Golino, M.D., Ph.D., is a Noninvasive Cardiologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. A native of Morcone, Benevento, Italy, he completed his medical degree (M.D.) at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy, followed by a cardiology fellowship and a Ph.D. in experimental and translational medicine at the University of Insubria in Varese, Italy. In 2022, he joined Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia, where he served as a senior postdoctoral clinical research fellow in the Division of Cardiology. During this time, Dr. Golino also developed active research collaborations with the University of Virginia (UVA) in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 2025, he joined the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville.

Dr. Golino believes in teaching through clarity, curiosity, and real clinical experience. He aims to create a supportive environment where trainees (medical students, residents and fellows) feel comfortable learning, asking questions, and developing into thoughtful, patient-centered physicians.

Clinical Profile

Dr. Golino provides comprehensive care for patients with various cardiovascular diseases, including pericarditis (both acute and recurrent), heart failure, coronary artery disease, and valvular heart disease. His interests also include preventive cardiology, and he has expertise in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, 3D imaging, and strain analysis. His clinical approach focuses on the prevention and early detection of diseases, ongoing follow-up, and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Dr. Golino is dedicated to clear communication, evidence-based therapies, and compassionate, patient-centered care to heal, comfort, and educate the community. He is committed to continuous medical learning and actively incorporates the latest scientific evidence and research insights into clinical practice to ensure that each patient receives the most up-to-date and effective cardiovascular care.
