Irtiza Hasan, MD, MSc, MRCP(UK), CHS, FASN

Irtiza Hasan, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine–Jacksonville and a nephrologist at UF Health Jacksonville. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Clinical Hypertension, with advanced certification in Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (ABAIM). His clinical interests include chronic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, acute kidney injury, dialysis, resistant hypertension, and electrolyte disorders. Dr. Hasan earned his medical degree from Ibrahim Medical College in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at BIRDEM General Hospital/Dhaka Medical College and the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, later he obtained Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP UK). He also earned a Master of Science in Cardiology from Canterbury Christ Church University, completed postdoctoral training/research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and later completed his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine–Jacksonville. He also completed advanced fellowship training in glomerular diseases through the GlomCon Foundation. Dr. Hasan specializes in caring for patients with complex kidney diseases, including lupus nephritis, IgA nephropathy, membranous nephropathy, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), resistant hypertension, and dialysis-dependent kidney disease. He is actively involved in clinical research, medical education, and the development of artificial intelligence applications to improve kidney disease diagnosis, patient education, and personalized care. He is committed to translating scientific advances into better patient outcomes while mentoring the next generation of physicians and physician-scientists.
