About Christian A Koch
Christian A. Koch, M.D., Ph.D., FACP, MACE, is a professor and chief of the division of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. He is board-certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, with a special focus in oncologic endocrinology, endocrine hypertension, adrenal and thyroid disorders.
Koch has received several awards, including Master of the American College of Endocrinology (MACE). He served on the committee for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists Pituitary, Gonad, Adrenal, and Neuroendocrine Disease State Network. He is also a member of several associations, including the American and German Endocrine Society, and the American and German Diabetes Associations.
He has written numerous articles, letters, and editorials for peer-reviewed journals, and is serving on the editorial boards and as a reviewer of several prestigious journals. Along with Prof. George P. Chrousos, Prof. Koch has edited the book Endocrine Hypertension (Springer, 2013) and authored or co-authored over 60 book chapters and presented scientific studies at conferences around the world.
Koch received his medical degree from Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He also completed a dissertation at the Westfalian-Wilhelms University in Muenster, Germany, and earned the habilitation/venia legendi at the University of Leipzig. Koch completed his internal medicine residency at the Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio, and a fellowship in endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
