Welcome to the site for the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville
department of medicine. The department provides patient care services at UF Health Jacksonville, a 695-bed tertiary care teaching
hospital, as well as at numerous primary and specialty care centers located throughout
Jacksonville.
Our department is committed to excellence in our academic missions of patient care,
education and training and research. We serve all of Northeast Florida and provide
an outstanding environment for learning the art and science of internal medicine.
In addition to our ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency
program, we also have accredited fellowships in the following programs:
cardiology, clinical cardiac electrophysiology,
endocrinology,
gastroenterology, infectious disease,
interventional cardiology, hematology and medical oncology,
nephrology, pulmonary and critical
care medicine and rheumatology. Each of our training programs equips graduates with the necessary
skills for providing the highest quality patient-centered care grounded in the principles
of evidence-based medicine.
The department is active in evaluating quality of patient care and seeking innovative
methods of improvement through available literature or through discovery of new
knowledge. Our large and diverse patient population - combined with institutional
partners such as the UF Health Science Center Gainesville, Duval County Health Department
and other health care systems and health insurers - provides a rich opportunity
for conducting wide-range, patient-related research of high relevance, including
studies of clinical effectiveness, clinical trials, health economics and health
policy.
Please contact us if you have questions or need more information. Thank you for your
"virtual visit" to our department.
