Programs and Tools that Assist with GME Applications At the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, we recognize that there are a variety of programs and tools that applicants can and may choose to utilize to develop portions of their GME application, such as the personal statement. We wish to emphasize that the personal statement should reflect an accurate picture of the applicant’s experiences, character, motivations, and qualities. Applicants should include specifics relevant to a medical career, a certain specialty, and a particular program. A genuine and authentic personal statement should be the goal. Most medical schools provide important guidance and resources in writing successful personal statements; we recommend reviewing these tips.
