Welcome to the Rheumatology Fellowship Program with the division of rheumatology and clinical immunology in the department of medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. This program is accredited through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, or ACGME. This program is devoted to our dedicated, uniquely and formally trained physicians who seek to fulfill the challenge of helping those afflicted by rheumatologic diseases and osteoporosis.

The educational purpose of the rheumatology fellowship is to provide an ACGME-accredited, broad-based training to fellows in the evaluation and management of the vast array of diseases encountered in the subspecialty of rheumatology, including the care of patients with metabolic bone disorders.

The fellowship consists of clinical training for two years with integration of pertinent research in the field. Fellows are expected to increase their basic medical knowledge base in rheumatology and metabolic bone disease, to develop improved skills in the diagnosis and management of the varied types of health issues encountered and to develop investigative skill in related disciplines. The scope and structure of the program are designed to fulfill requirements for board eligibility in rheumatology, as described in the AMA Graduate Medical Education Directory.

Our division is active in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasound. Faculty participate in national and international courses and ultrasound-based research and education.

In addition to the professional opportunities, Jacksonville is an ideal place to live and work – it is home to perfect weather, abundant beaches, unlimited outdoor sports and home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
