Welcome to the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program with the division of gastroenterology in the department of medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. This three-year program is accredited through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, or ACGME and offers outstanding training.

This fellowship aims to facilitate the development of important skills in the effective practice of medicine. These include professional relationship-building with colleagues and staff, teaching and presentation skills, independent decision-making and administrative skills. To develop these skills, graded levels of responsibility are woven into the curriculum. In general, it encompasses the following areas: teaching, patient care, management and research.

We strive to be the best gastroenterology training program in the country using the resources that we have available to us. Excelling in patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism and systems-based practice is the core foundation of our training program. We are committed to the education and competency of quality patient-centered care and safety in an environment rich in scholarly activities. Upon graduation we expect each trainee to be able to enter an unsupervised practice of evidence based gastroenterology with an enthusiasm for life-long learning and professional growth.
