Welcome to the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program with the division of gastroenterology in the department of medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. This three-year program is accredited through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, ACGME and offers outstanding training.

This fellowship aims to facilitate the development of important skills in the effective practice of medicine. These skills include professional relationship-building with colleagues and staff, teaching and presentation skills, independent decision-making and administrative skills. To develop these skills, graded levels of responsibility are woven into the curriculum. In general, it encompasses the following areas: teaching, patient care, management and research.

We strive to be the best gastroenterology training program in the country using the resources available to us. Excelling in each of the ACGME Competency domains, professionalism, patient care and procedural skills, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, and systems-based practice, is the core foundation of our training program. We are committed to the education and competency of quality patient-centered care and safety in an environment rich in scholarly activities. Upon graduation, we expect each trainee to demonstrate the ability to enter an autonomous practice of evidence based gastroenterology, with an enthusiasm for life-long learning and professional growth.

In addition to the above training opportunities, Jacksonville, Florida is an ideal place to live and work. It is home to great weather, abundant beaches, unlimited outdoor sports, and the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars.
